Every year, on the last weekend of July, Strážnice comes alive with folk music, folklore dances and numerous scenes recalling ancient traditions and customs.Leading folklore ensembles from Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia appear in turn on an open-air platform in amphitheatres, open-air museum and chateau park, being applauded by large audiences. The weekend programme regularly includes performances of a number of foreign folklore groups. Thus for six decades the Strážnice Festival has ranked as one of the most important international events of its kind.
